Regional Collaboration
Platform
The RCP is a freely accessible cloud-based experimentation platform tailored to the region’s need
Through the Regional Collaboration Platform, we foster shared understanding and accelerate iteration and co-develop a common plan forward
The Regional Collaboration Platform (RCP) is an open, cloud-based sandbox designed for experimentation and rapid prototyping. Freely accessible to regional partners, it comes equipped with built-in tools and representative data to support realistic testing. Most importantly, RCP enables collaborative exploration of regional ATM concepts in a risk-free environment helping stakeholders shape the future of air traffic management together.
Gradually unlocking new technologies for ATM use , through research and collaboration in the APAC region.
RCP development journey
2019 - 2023
Initializing Capabilities
Leveraging the capabilities built since 2019, the focus is to equip the RCP with foundational capabilities to enable a common situational awareness for the region. The ambition was to build a platform for regional experimentation using open technologies and data, accessible via cloud technologies.
2024
Regional Awareness as the First Use Case
The RCP, powered by live and historical data and flight plans, provides real-time 4D flight data, offering users enhanced and accurate situational awareness by leveraging the following tools and capabilities:
- Global Source Connections
- Surveillance Data Fusion
- Global Flight Plans
- 4D trajectory prediction
- Estimated boundary crossing
- Prototyping display themes
- Traffic demand over Hotspots
2025
Regional Engagement with FF-ICE as second use case
Progressive onboarding of APAC ANSPs onto the Regional Collaboration Platform with a focus on FF-ICE/R1 to address regional operational needs. Deployment of the full FF-ICE stack and HMI for eASP and eAU, enable stakeholders to seamlessly manage and visualize flight plans. Introduction of a hybrid mode enabling “what-if” analysis on live or planned flights, supporting proactive decision-making.
2026
Strengthening Regional Use Cases
The engagement effort is evolving towards structured collaboration with ANSPs to identify and develop additional high-impact use cases, such as advanced weather forecasting and city-pair optimization, to enhance operational efficiency.
Use Cases of the RCP for seamless
Air Traffic Management
Use Case: Regional FF-ICE

FF-ICE : Flight and Flow Information for a Collaborative Environment
FF-ICE aims to enhance flight planning and air traffic management through improved data sharing and automation. By enabling real-time, standardised information exchange between airspace users such as airlines (eAUs), air navigation service providers (eASPs), and other stakeholders.
FF-ICE Release 1 encompasses six critical services designed to facilitate collaborative flight planning and efficient information sharing between airspace stakeholders.

Early Trajectory Negotiation for Smoother Traffic
Anticipate and ease the predicted traffic by negotiating the trajectory early before departure.

Pre-Departure 4D Trajectory Agreement
Common agreement on the 4D trajectory before the departure between the Airline and the eASPs.

Reduce Workload & Enhance Safety
Reduce Air Traffic Controller workload and improve safety by minimising changes after take-off
